Good Thursday morning to you, and – what? Snow today???…
Weather: Yes, snow. Parts of our area could see a wintry mix of snow and sleet today. The most likely areas are in the very northern part of Jefferson County – generally Warrior, Kimberly, Corner and Trafford – plus all of west Blount County. Those areas could possibly see accumulation of as much as half an inch. Areas to the south will likely see only cold rain. All of this will end by 4 p.m. today, and no travel problems are anticipated. Highs today will stay in the upper 30s, with lows tonight in the upper 20s. Friday will be sunny and warmer with highs near 50.
Hello, Oscar. Sports: Gann headed to Tide. Tori Gann, the prolific goal-scorer for Pinson Valley’s girls soccer team, has committed to play her college soccer at Alabama. Gann, a senior who only played varsity soccer last year for the Tribe but has been a mainstay with club teams, scored a whopping seven goals in a match last season… Basketball: Tonight’s schedule includes Hanceville playing at Mortimer Jordan, with girls varsity starting at about 6 and boys to follow.
