Dudley ‘Sonny’ Wayne Chandler

Dudley “Sonny” Wayne Chandler, 88, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at his residence. Mr. Chandler was born April 18, 1926, to Ernest O. and Lillie Tucker Chandler. Sonny was best known as the Holiday Motors dealer, first as the Oldsmobile, then Cadillac and then Ford New Car dealership. He also operated other businesses. He was a member of the Cullman Masonic Lodge and later, the Cullman Elks lodge.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday January 9, at Moss Service Funeral Chapel with Masonic graveside services at Cullman City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Chandler; son, Wayne (Myra) Chandler; granddaughter, Shellie (Teddy) Jackson; great-granddaughter, Zoe Kathleen Jackson; great-grandson, Chandler Zane Jackson; sister, Ann Chandler Smith; several nieces and nephews; a daughter adopted by love, Dueese Speegle; and good friends by love, Marvin and Carol Snyder and Harold and Louise Chandler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Alesia Cupp and Carolyn Murphree.
