Violet I. Hobson, October 26, 1920 – December 23, 2014, was born in Lawley, and she passed away peacefully at the age of 94. She worked for U.S. Steel and in her son’s accounting practice. Violet was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church where she served as secretary/treasurer for several years.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Alvin Hobson. She is survived by her son, Wayne Hobson (Eva); daughter, Jean Frazier; grandchildren, Lisa Heifner-Hobson, Christa (Dwayne) Duncan, Daniel Hobson, Steven Hobson, Mike (Melissa) Frazier, Gary (Deborah) Frazier, Neil (Juliana) Frazier and five great grandchildren, Karliegh Duncan, Dawson Duncan, Nathan Frazier, Sara Frazier, Sabrina Frazier and a very special niece, Lunis Hicks; her very special  caregivers, Tracie Adams Reid and Joanne Patrick; her special friends, Harold Cunningham and the Zech family, Joanne, Keith, Kayla, Jon, Anna and Bryson. Our special thanks to Comfort Care Hospice and chaplain, Joe Klobuchar.

Services were held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel Dec. 27, 2014.
