Clay Walker was on fire for Mortimer Jordan, scoring 19 points — 13 of them in the second half — to lead the Blue Devils to a 52-48 victory over visiting Springville in boys basketball play on Tuesday.

Jordan jumped out to a 14-point lead after the first period, only to see the Tigers make up much of that margin by halftime. Still, the Devils were able to say just far enough ahead the rest of the way to secure the win.

Kaleb Archer scored eight points, while Patrick Burkett and Sawyer Swindle added seven each for the Devils.

Conner Winston scored 12 points and Isaiah Benson chipped in 10 for Springville (3-3).

Jordan (2-3) hosts Gardendale on Friday night.
