A strong third quarter helped Gardendale overcome an 8-point halftime deficit, as they defeated Minor 41-36 in girls basketball action Monday.

Alissa Cornelius led the Rockets with eight points, while Joy Sadler scored six points to go with eight rebounds.

LaTangelia Walker led all scorers with 16 points for the Tenacious Tigers, and Cherelle Burkett added seven.

Gardendale (4-1) hosts Dora on Tuesday night.
