Girls basketball: Hayden 45, Good Hope 42

After giving up the first 10 points of the game, Hayden came back to score a 45-42 win over Good Hope n girls basketball action Monday.

The Wildcats were down by 11 after one quarter, but cut the lead at halftime to 27-20.

In the third quarter the Cats held the Raiders to only five points. Sharley Miller hit a 3-pointer with just over two minutes remaining in the quarter to tie the game at 29.

Hayden tied the score again at 34 with five minutes to go, then took the lead 36-34 on a basket by Hannah Padgett. The Raiders tied the game at 40 with two minutes remaining, but the Cats outscored Good Hope 5-2 to take the win.

Padgett scored nine of her game-leading 15 points in the final period. Evin Bibb chipped in nine, while Miller and Kayla Jackson added 7 points each.

Hayden (2-2) goes to Susan Moore on Tuesday night.
