STILLWATER, Okla. — A 21-year-old man who told police he had fantasies about killing people has been charged in connection with the beheading death of 19-year-old Jacob Crockett, Stillwater police said Thursday.

Police began receiving calls at 2:46 p.m. Wednesday, when a man called and said he murdered someone with a machete.

Capt. Randy Dickerson confirmed the weapon was a “cross between a large knife and a sword.”

Investigators were dispatched to the scene, where they discovered Crockett’s body, based on information from suspect Isaiah Zoar Marin, 21, who called 911. Police spotted Marin in west Stillwater, covered in blood, Dickerson said.

Marin made his initial court appearance Thursday afternoon in Payne County District Court. He is being held without bail on a charge of first-degree murder.

Crockett’s head was severed in the attack, he said.

Police do not suspect a connection to terrorism. Police believe there was at least one witness to the attack.

Dickerson would not comment on whether this person intervened.

Marin appeared confused and disorientated at the time police arrested him up and cuffed him, but coherent enough during a police interview to discuss personal details about himself.

“The suspect told police he fantasized about killing several people, at least four,” Dickerson said.

At this time, Crockett is the only victim. Crockett was a gateway student at Northern Oklahoma College, on path to attend Oklahoma State University.
