James Gordon Key went home to be with the Lord on October 29, 2014 leaving behind his wife of 58 years Wanda Lou Key and four sons, Greg (Wanda), Mark, Tracy (Julie), and Phillip (Jennifer), ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Aldora Graves and Leoma Whaley.

James was a veteran of the US Navy having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of East Gardendale Baptist Church. Visitation will be Thursday, October 30, 6-8 p.m. in the chapel of  The New Gardendale Funeral  Home. Services will be on Friday, October 31 at 11 a.m. at The New Gardendale Funeral Home with burial at Eva Cemetery.
