A second person has died from injuries suffered in a crash in Morris on Thursday night.

Elberta Comer, 94, of Morris died Friday night at UAB Hospital from injuries sustained when an SUV she was driving collided with another vehicle at the intersection of U.S. 31 and Old U.S. 31. Morris Police said that Comer’s vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign, and hit the other vehicle going north on 31. That vehicle flipped over in the median.

A passenger in Comer’s vehicle, Edna England Rickels, died Thursday night at UAB Hospital. Rickels, 77, was also from Morris. The driver of the other vehicle was also taken to UAB; that person’s condition is not known.

Police said that all those involved were wearing seat belts.
