Teacher from Pinson arrested for improper sexual contact with student at Tuscaloosa school

Reginald Swanson Jr., 22, of Pinson was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of a school employee having improper sexual conduct with a student under age 19. He was released on $1,000 bond.

TUSCALOOSA — A teacher who lives in Pinson has been charged with having improper sexual contact with a male student.

Reginald Swanson Jr., 22, who was formerly a teacher at Paul W. Bryant High School in Tuscaloosa, was arrested on a charge of a school employee having sexual contact with a student under the age of 19. The charge is classified as a misdemeanor.

A statement released by the Tuscaloosa Police Department says that the incident involved a 16-year-old male student, and took place during school hours on Sept. 16.

Swanson turned himself in at Tuscaloosa Police headquarters Friday morning after a warrant was issued. He was released on $1,000 bond.
