The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the man killed in a one-vehicle crash Saturday morning.
Bobby Joe Fredrick III, 36, of Warrior was killed when the vehicle he was driving ran off of Barber Blvd. (former Mary Buckelew Parkway) near a bridge over Crooked Creek. The site is not far from the Mt. Olive landfill entrance.
The vehicle went over a guard rail and slid into a ravine, where it was found shortly after 9 a.m. Saturday.
A coroner’s office investigator said that Fredrick was found dead at the scene. He was not identified positively until Monday morning, after fingerprint records were confirmed. There’s no word yet on the time between the crash and when it was discovered.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
