Football: Fultondale 35, Central-Coosa 0

ROCKFORD — Jared Stewart and Levelle Jordan scored two touchdowns each, as Fultondale scored its first Class 3A region win with a 35-0 shutout over Central-Coosa.

The Wildcats’ entire offense came via the rushing attack, as they attempted only one pass all night, which fell incomplete.

Of the 330 yards total offense, Stewart accounted for 136 yards on just nine carries, while Jordan ran for 106 yards, also on nine attempts.

Jordan scored first on a 17-yard run with 25 seconds left in the first quarter. Stewart’s first touchdown came on a 13-yard scamper with 7:43 left before halftime.

Anton Wheeler got his only touchdown of the night on a 29-yard run two and a half minutes into the second half. Jordan followed up two minutes later with a 4-yard scoring run for Fultondale.

Stewart capped off the scoring with a 15-yard touchdown run with 3:33 to go in the third period.

Derrick Pollard led the Wildcat defense with 12 tackles.

The Cougars gained 173 yards on the night, almost evenly split between rushing and passing.

Fultondale (2-1, 1-0 region) hosts Prattville Christian next Friday night.
