Jefferson County Schools to hold public forums for new strategic plan

A firm hired to formulate a new strategic plan for the Jefferson County Schools has scheduled public forums to solicit input.
Burke Enterprises will host six different forums for the general public at various JefCoEd high schools, plus an additional meeting for mayors and other local elected officials. The latter meeting will be held on Sept. 15, 5 p.m. at the Fultondale High School library.
The schedule for the forums:
- Sept. 29, McAdory
- Oct. 6, Shades Valley
- Oct. 7, Minor
- Oct. 14, Hueytown
- Oct. 27, Gardendale
- Oct. 28, Pinson Valley
The new strategic plan — an undertaking that JefCoEd has gone through several times over the years — was authorized last month by the Board of Education.
