Dr. Coil Edward “C.E.” Stricklin, age 70, of Gardendale, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2011. Dr. Stricklin, who had recently retired, was an ordained minister for the United Methodist Church for over 50 years and held a Doctorate in Divinity.

Dr. Stricklin was preceded in death by his parents, Coil and Alice Stricklin, his wife Joan, and his daughter, Linda.

He is survived by his sons, Rodney (Laurina) Stricklin and Ted Stricklin; his daughter, Cindee Standridge; two granddaughters; three grandsons; his brother, Manuel Stricklin, and a host of loving friends and family.

Visitation was held Novemeber 28, 2011 at Gardendale Funeral Home. Services were held November 29 at Gardendale Funeral Home with committal at Elmwood Cemetery. Reverend Ben Hogan officiated, Gardendale Funeral Home directed.
