A free community seminar will be Aug. 11, 5:30-7 p.m., at the Gardendale Civic Center about Alabama’s new concussion law and its impact on youth sports, plus concussion symptoms and treatment options. Jim Roberts, attorney with Townes, Woods & Roberts P.C., will address the legal issues regarding the new law and its possible affects on youth sports programs. Dr. Lawrence J. Lemak, Lemak Sports Medicine & Orthopedics, will address the health issues relating to concussions. Seating is limited and advanced registration is required.
