John Henry McIntosh
John Henry “Rutt” McIntosh, age 85, of Fultondale died in a peaceful sleep from complications of congestive heart failure on Monday, July 28, 2014. He was beloved by family and friends and all who met him. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a bright smile. John retired with over 40 years of service to Insulator’s Local #78.
He was preceded in death by sisters Evelyn Wiggins, Laura Swack, Margaret Davis, Betty Marlin, Julia Johnson Briggs; brothers William, Jerry, Tommy, David, and James McIntosh. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Lorene South McIntosh, daughter Gail (Ronald) Rowell, son John H. (Angela) McIntosh, Jr.; sister Shirley (Gene) Daniel; and a sister-in-law, Jenny McIntosh and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his grandchildren; Jennifer (Brad) Moore, Brett (Bragan) Rowell, Valerie (Rusty) White, John H. (April) McIntosh, III, and Lee McIntosh; his great grandchildren Mackenzie, Mackayla, and Mikah (Sarah) Dooley, Mason and Sidney Williams, Berkley Rowell, Noah and Lydia McIntosh, and soon-to-be “baby girl” White on the way; one great-great grandson, Holden Fulgham.
A visitation was held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel. Burial was at Oakwood Memorial Gardens with US Marine Military Honors.
