A pickup-truck crash near County Line has resulted in the death of the truck’s driver.

The crash occurred in the 3800 block of Smith Mill Road, just south of County Line. Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene at about 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators said that a 1998 Ford truck ran off the road on a curve and struck a tree. The driver was found dead at the scene. He was the only person in the truck.

The victim’s name has not been released pending notification of next of kin, but the Sheriff’s Office did identify him as a 53-year-old male.
