Ware’s appointment was made official, along with numerous other personnel moves, at a special called meeting of the Jefferson County Board of Education on Tuesday morning. It was the first meeting with Dr. Craig Pouncey officially in place as the new superintendent.

It’s the third principal’s assignment for Ware. The Corner High alumna was in charge at North Highland Elementary in Hueytown from November 2006 until May 2011, when she moved to Snow Rogers to take over for the retiring Karen White. (White is now a member of the new Gardendale Board of Education.)

The county board will hold a series of special meetings this month, as the system deals with the very early start to the new school year. The board will meet again next Tuesday, July 15, as well as on July 31. Both meetings will be at 9 a.m. at the central office. In addition, the board will hold its regularly-scheduled monthly meeting on Thursday, July 24 at 10 a.m.
