Center Point pilot killed in Huntsville airplane crash

A Center Point man is one of the victims of an airplane crash Wednesday.

According to WAFF television in Huntsville, William Ross Christopher II, 57, was one of three people who perished when a business jet crashed after running off a runway at Huntsville International Airport.

A report from WIAT television in Birmingham said that Christopher’s wife, Lori, confirmed that her husband was the pilot of the airplane, and had been a pilot for 35 years.

Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board are still searching for the cause of the crash.

The two other victims were identified as Kenneth Lynn Rousseau, 67, of Harpersville, and Robin Gary Smith, 60, of Yukon, Okla.

The plane was registered to a company based at the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport, but it is not known what connection the aircraft or the trip had to the company.
