The Fultondale City Council has updated its fire department policy.
The council on Monday voted to revise its Fultondale Fire and Rescue Policy and Guidelines.
Josh Bryant, who is on the city council and is also an officer with the fire department, said the revision changes the titles of some officers and makes other minor changes.
“It’s the same people, just different titles,” Bryant said in a work session before Monday’s meeting. The policy is now “aligned more the way it’s done in other departments.”
Mayor Jim Lowery said all of the fire department supervisors had input on the changes. “All the leadership in the department worked together on it,” he said.
The Fultondale Fire Department is an all-volunteer organization.
In other business, the council approved a business license for Taco Bell, to be located at 1611 Morris Avenue, next to Aldi.
The next council meeting is June 9, 6 p.m., at Fultondale City Hall.
