Kimberly and Morris have apparently been struck by a tornado tonight, with heavy damage reported in the areas of Kimberly City Hall and North Jefferson Middle School.

Multiple ploice and broadcast media reports say that Kimberly Church of God and the Kimberly Fire Department have been heavily damaged. First responders in Kimberly and Morris have requested mutual aid from surrounding departments.

U.S. 31 through Kimberly and Morris are currently closed bcause of debris.

There’s also heavy damage to a trailer park in Kimberly.

Another tornado was reported on a path through Gardendale and Mt. Olive, but that funnel cloud stayed aloft and no damage has been reported.. A confirmed tornado went through parts of Bessemer in the western part of the city.

As of 11:45 p.m., all tornado warnings had expired.
