A preliminary hearing has been set for Friday for Charles Jordan, the man charged with murdering a Morris woman, and then stuffing her body into a plastic box.
Jordan will appear before Jefferson Circuit Judge Shelley Watkins at 9 a.m.
Police reports charge Jordan with strangling Patricia McCain, 61, during an altercation after the two had slept together. The report said that heavy drug use was involved.
Jordan is then accused of stuffing McCain’s body into a plastic box, which he kept in the Southside apartment where he was staying. He then asked a friend to take the box outside to a dumpster, the report states; the friend looked inside the box and saw the body, then called police.
The killing happened around March 7, according to the report. The body was found last Sunday morning; McCain was identified by fingerprints which were on file from previous criminal charges.
Jordan is charged with murder, and held in the county jail in lieu of $60,000 bond.
