The wins clinched a post-season berth for the Rockets.

In the opening game, Calvert gave up just one hit — a double to Randall Jackson — and two walks. He also hit a double and a single in four at-bats with an RBI and two runs scored, and Colten Jay hit two doubles to drive in two runs.

In the nightcap, Rockets pitcher Brady Sellers was sailing along, striking out 10 batters while sitting on a 4-0 lead after six innings. But he ran into trouble in the seventh, giving up three runs. Reliever Mason Gooch came in with two outs, but served up the tying run.

Gardendale came back in the bottom of the seventh though, when John Michael Mathews single, stole second and advanced to third on a passed ball. Hunter Crook then brought Mathews home with a walk-off base hit.

Mathews was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Crook was also 2-for-4 and scored a run for the Rockets (19-13). Jackson was 2-for-4 for the Vikings with a double and two RBIs.

Jeremy Peterson struck out six but allowed six hits and three earned runs as he took the loss for Huffman.
