Hewitt-Trussville stayed unbeaten in Class 6A Area 12 softball play, thanks to a two-run walk-off triple by Taylor Beshears that gave the Huskies a 5-4 win over visiting Gardendale on Thursday.

Carrigan Fain had two doubles and scored a run, and Katlyn Bailey was 2-for-3 for the Rockets. Amber Hammonds hit a solo homer for the Huskies (16-3, 5-0 area).

Pitcher Cris Gant went the distance in the loss for Gardendale, striking out four but giving up eight hits. Callie Shields got her eighth win of the season, striking out three but also allowing eight hits.

The Rockets (3-4, 0-1) travel to Oak Grove on Tuesday.
