Kimberly to upgrade park restrooms

The city of Kimberly will do some upgrades to the restrooms at Kimberly City Park.

On Tuesday, the city council approved spending $800 to repair a water line and other items at the restroom.

Also, Mayor Bob Ellerbrock said the city will install a steel door at the restroom to help prevent ongoing vandalism at the facility.

In other business, the council:

• approved spending $2,872 for supplies and equipment for the fire department

• accepted a new volunteer firefighter

• voted to spend $577.26 for training ammunition for the police department

• approved a franchise agreement with Charter Communications, which allows the company to provide services in the city

The next regular city council meeting is March 24, 6:30 p.m., at Kimberly City Hall.
