Softball: Locust Fork gets pair of victories

Locust Fork easily won a pair of shortened softball games Friday, rolling over Cleveland 12-1 in three innings and St. Clair County 8-2 in four.

Anna Hood smashed solo homers in each game for the Hornets, driving on three runs in all against the Bulldogs in the opening game.

Locust Fork blew the game open in the very first inning with eight runs. Tailor Massey started off the rally with a lead-off triple; she was 3-for-3 for the game.

Jamie Gail Hudson was 3-for-3, drove in one run and scored two more. Haley Glasscox was 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Macy Wilks pitched two innings, striking out two while allowing two hits and two walks.

In the second game, the Hornets stung the Saints with six runs in the second inning, highlighted by a two-run double by Massey, another double by Hudson that drove in Massey and a double by Glasscox that scored two more.

Glasscox also drove in Massey on a first-inning double; both players were 2-for-2 for the game. Erica Igo was 2-for-2 for the Saints.

Hudson and Wilks each threw two innings, with Hudson (the starter) getting the win and allowing one hit for the Hornets (4-1).
