One man was wounded from gunshots apparently fired by his wife, who then turned the gun on herself and committed suicide, according to a report from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting took place on Stephanie Drive, which is a cul-de-sac located off of Humber Road between Dora and Corner. The location is about a mile south of Corner High School and roughly two miles southeast of Bagley Junior High.
Chief Deputy Randy Christian said in a statement that the man called 911 at about 3 p.m. Saturday, saying that he had been shot by his wife, who then shot herself. When deputies arrived, they found that the woman had died from her wounds, and the man was still alive but badly injured.
The man was taken to a hospital, where he was reported to be in surgery Saturday evening.
Identities of those involved have not been released yet, pending notification of next of kin.
