Obituary: J. D. Waters

J. D. Waters, 82, of Gardendale passed away January 19, 2014. Mr. Waters was a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church for many years. He served in the U. S. Air Force between 1951 and 1955. He retired from Sloss Industries with 37 years of service.  

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy “Dot” Waters; sons, Gary (Carol) Waters and Barry (Janet) Waters; grandchildren, Laura (Aaron) Turner, Adam (Sybil) Waters, Rachel Waters, Ashton (Adam) Green, Luke Waters, Logan Waters and Drew Waters; sister, Brenda (Freddie) Feuentes.  

The funeral service will be Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 1 p.m. with the visitation from 11 a.m. till service time at The New Gardendale Funeral Home with burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.  

Mr. Waters was a loving husband, wonderful daddy and a great “Pop”, always singing.  The family request memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org. The New Gardendale Funeral Home directing.
