Hewitt-Trussville used big efforts in the second and third quarters to defeat Gardendale 54-43 in a Class 6A area basketball game Tuesday night.

Joy Sadler had a double-double for the Rockets, scoring 17 points, pulling down 10 rebounds and blocking three shots.

Cayla Dillard led the Huskies (10-7, 2-1 area) with 14 points.

Gardendale (6-12, 1-3 area) hosts Carver on Friday night.
