PREP GIRLS BASKETBALL: Eagles close out Decatur tourney with easy 58-31 win over host Red Raiders

Cold Springs bounced back from a tough loss to Spain Park on Saturday with an easy 58-31 win over Class 6A Decatur in the Decatur Orthopedic Classic on Monday.

The 2A No. 4 Eagles led the tourney host at the quarter breaks 18-5, 37-12 and 49-25.

Tammy West’s squad improved to 14-5 on the season after its two victories over James Clemens and the Red Raiders.

“It was good to come up here and get a couple of wins over some high-classification schools,” West said. “I’m proud of all the girls for playing well.”

Chloe Harbison paced Cold Springs with 23 points, while Bailey West was good for 15. Haley Freeman collected nine points, six rebounds and six assists as well in the win.

Other Eagle contributors included Caitlyn Hall, five points and nine boards; and Emme Willoughby, Camryn Crider and Hannah Watson, two points.

Cold Springs will travel to Sulligent on Friday.
