Girls basketball: Vestavia Hills 34, Pinson Valley 31

Pinson Valley came almost all the way back from a big halftime deficit, but not quite far enough as Vestavia Hills prevailed by a 34-31 score in the grls’ semifinal of the Bryant Bank Thanksgiving Tournament at Hewitt-Trussville.

The Indians, down 18-5 at intermission, were led by Nahtika Belser with 11 points and four rebounds. Alex Lowery and Destini McKinney added seven points each.

The Tribe faces Pelham on Tuesday night at 5 in the third-place game at Bryant Bank Arena.
