Central Baptist Church will recognize a woman who has served at the church for 55 years.

Chloe McSwain of Gardendale has played piano and organ there since 1958. She continues to play the organ every week.

In addition, she taught piano from her home until 1987. She then operated McSwain Piano Studio in Gardendale from 1987 to 2006, where she gave piano lessons to children and adults.

Also at her church, McSwain taught vacation Bible school for many years, as well as youth classes, college and career classes, and the senior adult women’s Bible study.

Central Baptist will recognize her during the worship service on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Keep the secret; the recognition is a surprise for McSwain.

All of her friends and former students are invited.
