UPDATED: Here’s some Halloween and fall festival events for this week

While traditional trick-or-treating on neighborhood streets is still a big part of Halloween, there are also lots of organizations — mainly churches — who will again sponsor Halloween events or fall-festival alternatives on Wednesday and Thursday nights, plus one on Saturday.
Here’s a list of the ones we’ve been told about:
WEDNESDAY
• Fall Frenzy, 6-8 p.m., Palmerdale United Methodist Church, 7776 Highway 75 in Pinson
• Trunk or Treat, 6:30-8 p.m., Mt. Olive United Methodist, 2451 Mt. Olive Road
• Fall Festival, 5:30-7:30 p.m., Hayden First Baptist Church, Highway 160
• Fall Festival, 6-8 p.m., Enon Baptist Church, Morris-Majestic Road in Morris
• “Insanitarium” Haunted Attraction, 7-10 p.m., Palmerdale Homesteads Community Center
THURSDAY
(Note: Because of the threat of thunderstorms forecast for Thursday evening, some of these events may have schedule changes. Check with organizers before attending.)
• Fall Festival, 5-8 p.m., Gardendale First Baptist — North Campus (This event has been moved ahead one hour)
• Great Pumpkin Celebration, 6:30-8 p.m., former IGA building om U.S. 31 in Kimberly
• Sweets and Treats, 6-8 p.m., Central Baptist, Newfound Road in Gardendale
• Trunk ot Treat, 6:30-8 p.m., Gardendale-Mt. Vernon United Mathodist, Highway 31 in Gardendale
• Old-Fashioned Fall Festival, 6-8 p.m., Gethsemane Baptist, Hayden
• Trunk or Treat, 6 p.m., Sharon Heights Baptist, Brookside
• “Insanitarium” Haunted Attraction, 7-10 p.m., Palmerdale Homesteads Community Center
SATURDAY
• Community Fall Festival, 4-6 p.m. at Mt. Olive Ball Park, sponsored by First Baptist of Mt. Olive
• Warrior Day, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Main Street
