That’s the word during the Kimberly City Council’s regular meeting Tuesday night. The proceeds from the sale, which began Thursday and Friday of this week and will run again next Thursday and Friday, go to buy Christmas presents for children in need each year.

Those with donations can drop them off at City Hall. That’s also the location of the sale itself, which is open next Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In other business on a light agenda, the council:

  • Approved the applications of two new volunteer firefighters;
  • Voted to pay the expenses of council member Lance Shivers to attend the Alabama League of Municipalities training session in Tuscaloosa;
  • Approved repairs to a city pickup truck.
