Dorothy Thomas Hill of Gardendale was born on January 26, 1920 in Avondale and passed away Monday, September 2, 2013 at the age of 93.

She was a member of the Eastern Star. Dorothy was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who was very much loved and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Hill; a son, Jack T. Trucks; brother, Otha Thomas; three sisters, Clara Beshear; Juanita Carrico, and Helen Robinson.

She is survived by her loving family, her daughter, Mary Sue Hughes (Willie); four grandchildren, Dottie Fleshman (Paul), Chris Hughes (Carol), Marie Trucks Brown (Tom), and Jack H. Trucks; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Caregiver Vanessa Taylor.

A visitation will be held Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 1 until 2 p.m. with a graveside service to follow at 2 p.m. in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
