A crash at the intersection of Center Point Road and Sweeney Hollow Road resulted in the death of an Oneonta woman.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at about 8 a.m., where a silver Volkswagen Beetle went through a red light. A tractor trailer coming through the intersection ran into the car.

The driver of the car was critically injured and died on the scene. Late Tuesday afternoon, the victim was identified as Evelyn Todd, 47, a resident of Oneonta who worked as a nurse in Birmingham.

The truck driver was not hurt. Investigators have ruled out alcohol as a factor in the crash.
