Obamacare: The Treasury Department announced a one-year delay in the requirement for employers to provide health insurance for their workers. The White House is reworking the insurance mandate. Formerly, businesses with more than 50 employees would have been required to provide health insurance for their workers or pay fines of up to $3,000 per employee. The deadline has been moved to 2015.

Locally: The Morris City Council voted this week to cut employees’ pay in order to help make up for a $50,000 deficit on the city’s books. The cuts affect workers in the police department, city hall, street department and senior center.
