Weather: The high for today is 94 degrees, with a partly cloudy morning and isolated thunderstorms expected later this afternoon.

Development problems: The city of Morris is the latest to experience problems with getting developments completed. Residents of the Overbrook Highlands subdivision say they have been waiting for five years to get the final coat of asphalt on their streets; they say developer Clint Singletary is the holdup. The neighboring city of Kimberly is also trying to put the heat on Singletary to complete two of his developments in that city.

Nation: The biggest news in the U.S. is a decision by the Supreme Court yesterday that affects legal marriages in the country. The high court overturned the Defense of Marriage Act, which legally defined a marriage as between one man and one woman. The decision entitles same-sex couples to federal benefits. Twelve states and Washington D.C. have legalized gay marriage. The court’s decision does not address whether states must recognize same-sex marriages from other states.
