Mr. A.C. Hayes, 73of Morris, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 22, 2013. A.C. (Allen) worked for ABC/Drummond Coke Plant in Tarrant and retired after 42 years of service. He pastored Glenn’s Chapel Baptist Church for several years and considered it a privilege to be able to proclaim God’s word. He loved the Lord and he loved his family. Bro. A.C. was a giving person who enjoyed helping others throughout his lifetime. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A.C. was preceded in death by his parents, Canie and Bertha Hays; his brothers, Pete and Buster Hays, and his sister, Elizabeth Hays Roper.  

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ramona Reese Hayes; his children, Alan (Lori) Hayes, Gina (Brian) Hand and Matt (Karen) Hayes; his grandchildren, Brandon and Blake Hand, Katie Hayes, Calli and Allison Hayes.  

Bro. A.C.’s visitation will be Tuesday, June 25, between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at The New Gardendale Funeral Home. A graveside service will immediately follow at 1 p.m., June 25, at Oakwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial to Hughes Memorial Baptist Church or Sharon Baptist Church, both in Pinson, AL. The New Gardendale Funeral Home directing 205-631-8810.
