The council awarded the contract in Tuesday’s regular session, after having tabled action on the bid in the previous meeting in order to check of the quality of roofing material specified.

The council also amended the Kimberly Senior Center budget, adding $600 seed money for “enhanced activities.” The money came from a grant by the Jefferson County Office of Senior Services.

In other business, the council:

• Gave the police department permission to enter into service with Verizon to replace radio communications with push-to-talk cellular service

• Voted to spend $717.90 for repairs to a police car.

Tuesday’s meeting had been moved from the normal fourth-Monday time slot because of the Memorial Day holiday.
