Kevin Curtis Campbell, 21, of Empire was arrested by Gardendale Police detectives and charged with second-degree theft of property.

Campbell is accused of taking two necklaces from Gardendale Jewelers on Main Street on May 7. As reported in this story last week, the suspect walked into the store and asked to look at one gold necklace and then another. Campbell then said, “See ya, bubba!” grabbed the necklaces off the counter and ran out of the store, police say.

Campbell will be transferred to the Jefferson County Jail on $15,000 bond.
