Madison McCormack pitched a two-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts, as Corner blanked Cullman 6-0 Friday evening.

Taylor Sloan drove in two runs on a single and a ground-out, as did Bailee Hammock. Hannah Reeder was 2-for2, Jordan Entrekin hit an RBI double, and McCormack hit a triple and scored twice.

Lead-off hitter Claire Jenkins had both hits for a young Bearcats squad that fields no seniors.

The game was the regular-season finale for the sixth-ranked Yellow Jackets, who will host the Class 4A Area 8 tournament in a one-day affair on Friday. The Jackets open the festivities with a first-round game against Dora at 9 a.m.
