The Saints took the lead for good in the top of the seventh inning thanks to an error on a hard grounder hit to third base, allowing two runs to score. That came just after a bases-loaded walk tied the game at 8-8.

The Hornets (10-4, 3-3 area) started off fast when they scored two runs on a misplayed fly ball. Bailey McCay’s double brought in two more runs, followed by run-scoring singles from Jamie Gail Hudson, Haley Glasscox and Anna Hood.

Locust Fork added a run in the third on a base hit by McCay.

But St. Clair came back with four runs in the fifth, led by an Ashley Johnson two-run double, plus two more in the sixth on an error and a ground-out.

McCay led the Hornets at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
