Bob Jones put up 10 runs in the fifth and final inning, as they thrashed Pinson Valley 14-1 in pool play Friday at the Bob Jones Invitational Softball Tournament.

Avey Gooch provided the biggest hit for the Patriots, as she smashed a grand slam during the fifth. Angela Joliffe went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Nicole Fisher drove in the Indians’ only run of the game with a single in the third inning.

Annabelle Smith went the distance for the Pats, allowing five hits while striking out three. Jenna Trimm took the loss for Pinson after being pulled in the fifth.
