Baseball: Hayden 5, Curry 0

Chris Whitt threw a no-hitter, striking out nine Curry batters as Hayden shut out the Yellow Jackets 5-0 in a Class 5A Area 12 baseball game Thursday.

Whitt allowed no walks; he did have one hit batsman, and two other Curry batters reached base on errors.

The Wildcats scored all of theor runs in the sixth inning. Luke Wall drove in three of those runs with a bases-clearing triple. Trent Dodson also hit an RBI double, and Patrick Hargett got credit for an RBI when he was walked with the bases Juiced.

Wall was 2-for-3 for the day, and Dodson was 2-for-4 for Hayden.

Chad Gann was the losing pitcher for the Jackets, striking out six Wildcats but allowing eight hits and seven walks.

The Wildcats travel to Mountain Brook on Friday.
