Softball: Pinson Valley 7, Clay-Chalkville 5

Emmie Waldrop and Amber Howard each went 4-for-4 at the plate and scored three runs, as Pinson Valley edged Clay-Chalkville 7-5 in the Indians’ softball season opener Monday.
Waldrop drove in two runs, including a triple in the third that scored Howard. Lauren Tralongo also knocked home two Pinson runs.
Howard was the winning pitcher, giving up 10 hits over all seven innings.
Madison Cole was 3-for-4 for the Cougars with an RBI. Jamecia Patton was 2-for-3 and Hali Rollins 2-for-2 for Clay. Jessica Reeves was the losing pitcher.
Pinson travels to Corner for the Yellow Jackets’ season opener on Thursday.
