Girl Scouts awarded

Troop 30014 members Jennifer Wickert and Kelsi Moore from Fultondale High School, Gracie Henry and Elizabeth Hallmark from Fultondale Elementary School and Amaya Butler from Bragg Middle School recently earned the Girl Scout Bronze Award for their project, Area Recruiting Party. The girls educated people about the history of Girl Scouts by throwing a party celebrating the organization’s 100th anniversary.

The Girl Scout Bronze Award is the highest award a Girl Scout Junior can earn. This award recognizes that a Girl Scout Junior has gained the leadership and planning skills required to follow through with a project that makes a positive difference in her community.

Manasco makes Dean’s List

John Riley Manasco of Mt. Olive was named to the Dean’s List at Huntingdon College for the fall semester.

Two graduate from UWA

Orion Recke, a senior, is the Region 7 Bryant Jordan Scholar Athlete nominee and Amanda Dean, a senior, is the Region 7 Achievement Award nominee.
