Avery Wakfield scored 14 points and brought down 10 rebounds, as Corner hung on to outlast Dora 48-42 in girls basketball play Friday.

Wakefield scored three key buckets down the stretch to keep the Yellow Jackets in front. She was 7-for-12 (58 percent) from the floor. She dominated the low post for most of the second half.

Carissa Reeves had 12 points, including three 3-pointers, and Andrea DeBord added 11 for Corner.

Antionette Grant had 10 points for the Bulldogs (2-3).
