Weather: Chilly nights, nice days. The forecast for the next few days is pretty much the same: clear highs in the middle to upper 60s, and nighttime lows in the lower 40s. We could see a few clouds Tuesday morning, maybe even a stray sprinkle, but not much.

Attacks continue in Israel. Rockets continue to aim for Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, fired by Hamas forces in the Gaza Strip. Air-raid sirens are a common occurrence now in Tel Aviv, though many of the rockets are being intercepted by the “Iron Dome” defense system. Meanwhile, Israeli defense forces are intensifying their attacks on Gaza, and the Jewish state is calling up reservists for a possible ground war.

Frustration in Cordova. Officials in the Walker County community are fed up with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, according to the Associated Press. Cordova was hit twice on April 27, 2011 by separate tornadoes, but the city’s business district looks much as it did the day after. Mayor Drew Gilbert says the agency’s red tape is dragging out the process.

Sports: “The Truth” prevails. We’ve finally come up with an appropriate nickname for Fultondale football standout ArDarius Stewart: “The Truth.” And Fyffe, the second-ranked team in Class 2A, couldn’t handle The Truth on Friday night as he scored seven rushing touchdowns — a school record —in a 49-28 victory in the second round of the playoffs. Stewart gained 350 yards in the game. The Wildcats now move on to the quarterfinals, where the task is even tougher — the Wildcats host top-ranked Tanner on Friday night… College football: Alabama needed for at least two of the three remaining unbeaten teams to lose a game over a three-week period, in order to get back in the BCS national championship picture. That all happened Saturday, as top-ranked Kansas State and No. 2 Oregon both fell, leaving Notre Dame alone among the undefeated. The Irish moved up to the top spot in the BCS rankings, and guess who’s second? Roll Tide indeed… NASCAR: Twitter-addicted driver Brad Keselowski can use a new hashtag now — #SprintCupChamp . Keselowski finished 15th in the season finale at Homestead, Fla. On Sunday night, giving him enough points to take the 2012 Sprint Cup over runner-up Jimmie Johnson. It’s also the first Cup for owner Roger Penske, who has enjoyed major success in IndyCar, especially at the Indy 500 itself.
