Milton William Lee
Milton William Lee, known to many as “Capt. Milt”, died at the age of 76 years. Mr. Lee of Foley, Ala., passed away on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham. Milton was born Aug. 1, 1936, in Cullman County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Beatrice Cutcher Lee. He was the fifth of nine children.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Verlin Lee; Walter Lee, Allen Lee and Holland Lee. He is survived by two brothers, Olen Hershel (Lois) Lee of Bend, Ore.; Paul Lee of Addison; Sisters, Patricia (Auburn) Baldwin-Nethery of Addison; Faye Lee of Cullman County.
Milton is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Maureen Patricia Jones Lee of Foley; and his three children, Suzanne Lee McDonald of PCB, Fla., Robert W. Lee of Crane Hill and Micheal A. Lee of Atlanta, Ga.; eight-grandchildren, Maria (Dustin) Quick, Megan (Brett) Fuller, Scott McDonald, Brooke (Wes) Ward, Ethan McDonald, Lukas Lee, Madison Lee and Michael W. Lee; five great-grandchildren, Dustin G. Jr. and Landen Memphis Quick, Payton and Kayden Fuller, and Kirra Lee McDonald; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to mention.
Milton was a journeyman carpenter and a retired home-builder. He moved to Foley, Al in 1992. After retirement, he became a licensed USCG charter-boat captain and he also volunteered for 10 years with the Ft. Morgan VFD.
Milton was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Gulf Shores; a fourth degree member and past Grand Knight of Council 10903 Knights of Columbus, a Catholic service ministry. Milton held his Lord, faith, family and community dearest in his heart and strived to be a valuable asset to all.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at Moss-Service Funeral Home, the Rev. Kevin Baldwin officiating (www.mossservicefh.com). The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, Gulf Shores, the Rev. Robert W. Fulton officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Rest Cemetery, Foley.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The Lee family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to all the family, dear friends, and medical personnel who helped make Milton’s last days peaceful and loving.
